Tributes have poured in for young Nondescripts center Ogeto Gecheo who died on Tuesday morning aged just 20.

A close season signing from the Impala Saracens Academy, Ogeto had broken into the Nondescripts first team and featured in his club’s Kenya Cup match day five 11-43 loss to the Strathmore Leos on  Saturday 3 December 2016. He had been recuperating following surgery after sustaining an injury to the spine during this league encounter.

He captained Maseno School to second place at the 2015 KSSSA National Schools XVs championship where his side fell to a 12-13 loss to Laiser Hill in the final.

A large number of tributes have been paid to Ogeto.

Kenya Simbas captain Brian Nyikuli said: We may not understand why it had to happen but we leave it to God. Rest in peace OG and poleni sana Nondies..we are together in this.”

Former Kenya Sevens international Lavin Asego said: “We don’t understand but you require us to trust you and your timing. Sleep well brother #RIPOG.”

kenyacup.co.ke extends its deepest sympathies to the Gecheo family as well as the Nondescripts RFC fraternity.
