Resolution Impala Saracens stayed top for a third successive week, posting a 28-15 win over visiting Top Fry Nakuru at the Impala Club on Saturday 23 January 2016. They completed the season’s double over the Wanyore, having won the reverse fixture 26-18 in Nakuru on 19 December.

Edwins Makori scored an early try for the visitors, Martin Muita missing the conversion but Impala kept pressing, Sammy Oliech missing a goal attempt after Constant Cap had penalized Nakuru. Oliech would later convert Nato Simiyu’s try to give the Sarries a 7-5 lead at the break.

Oliech would drill home a penalty after the restart as Impala went 10-5 up before Sammy Motari outsprinted Larry Safari to touch down with Oliech converting for a 17-5 score. Paul Mutsami would then retrieve Calvin Otieno’s attempted punt into touch, exchanging passes with Simon Muniafu before racing clear to score a third try for Impala but Nakuru were not going down without a fight, scoring two quickfire tries through Martin Owila and Philip Kwame to bring the scores to 22-15 before Oliech slotted home two penalties to seal the deal for the Sarries who stayed top of the log for a third week in succession.
