Blak Blad started their campaign with a 8-47 loss to SportPesa Quins while the Sarries pulled off a 37-22 win over Nondescripts.
Mean Machine ran defending champions Kabras Sugar close, falling to a last gasp 13-14 defeat in Kakamega while Nakuru started their campaign with a 26-11 result at home to Mwamba.
