Hosts Resolution Impala Saracens were forced to dig deep on Kenya Cup match day three, rallying from a 0-12 deficit to post a 24-12 bonus point win over the Strathmore Leos at the Impala Club on Saturday 19 November 2016.

Elkeans Musonye’s converted try saw the Leos, winless in their opening two outings, take a 7-0 lead into the interval and they looked to be coasting when Adrian Opondo added a second try for a 12-0 lead.

The Sarries would be awarded a penalty try, Quinto Ongo converting to bring the score to 12-7 before George Okowa brought them level, landing an unconverted try for a 12-12 score.

Former Kenya U19 international Kevin Ochami would gather Ongo’s raised ball, grounding the ball as the Sarries went ahead for the first time in this match before captain Duncan Ekasi capped the Sarries resurgence, landing the bonus point try with Okowa adding the extras.

The result saw the Sarries stay unbeaten and third on the log after match day three.
