SportPesa Quins built on an 18-5 lead at the interval to defeat Blak Blad 47-8 in Kenya Cup match day 1 action at the RFUEA Ground on Saturday 5 November 2016.
Hosea Odhiambo opened the scoring for the hosts, his touch down putting Quins 5-0 up before David Ahawo doubled the lead with an unconverted effort as Quins not only dominated the proceeding but the scoreboard too, the scores 10-0 after 23 minutes of play.
Their pressure continued to force Blad into a litany of errors that were eventually punished when Pius Shiundu drilled home a penalty for a 13-0 lead. Dennis Mugambi added a third try before Levy Amunga responded for Blad moments to half time.
Quins would up the ante after the restart, adding five tries through Isaac Adimo, Dennis Muhanji, Ahawo who landed his brace in between Shiundu’s double and two conversions.
