Strathmore secure final playoff spot as KCB finish league phase unbeaten

Strathmore Leos reached the Kenya Cup Top 6 playoffs despite a  20-7  loss to Menengai Cream Homeboyz RFC in Kenya Cup match day 11 action. The Leos finished the regular season on 25 points, two clear of nearest challengers Top Fry Nakuru who fell to a 17-12 loss to Stanbic Mwamba,
Other action on a rainy Saturday afternoon in Nairobi and its environs saw Kenya Cup defending Champions KCB go unbeaten in the league after they drew 9-9  with Resolution Impala Saracens at the KCB Sports Club, Ruaraka. Darwin Mukidza and Mark Kwemoi were the champions of the day as each fullback drilled in three penalties for their sides.
 Kabras Sugar RFC registered a 52 -3 win  against Kenyatta University’s Blakblad while Resolution Kisii took home their win of the season in the battle of the already relegated club, posting a 53-6 win over 1997 Enterprise Cup champions Regional Logistics Mombasa in Kisii.
The match between Nondescripts and SportPesa Quins was called off as the Jamhuri Park turf was rendered unplayable by the deluge that pounded Nairobi, both sides agreeing to share points and the 0-0 result.

The following top six teams have qualified for the Kenya Cup playoffs.

KCB RC and Menengai Cream Homeboyz RFC earned themselves a direct home semi final for finishing first and second respectively in the league. On Saturday, 10th March, Kabras Sugar who are third will host sixth place Strathmore Leos while fourth place Impala hosts neighbours and fifth place Sportpesa Quins for a second Ngong Road Derby this weekend.
KCB will then host with Ngong Road Derby winner on the 17th as Homeboyz hosts the winner between Kabras and Srathmore.
