Mombasa and USIU are through to the KRU Championship semifinals after winning their Top Six playoff fixtures on Saturday 1 April 2017.
Mombasa made the 843km road trip to Kisumu count, beating host Kisumu RFC 15-8 at the ASK Mamboleo Showground in Kisumu and will now face the Catholic Monks in Nairobi on Saturday 8 April.
USIU, out of the Kenya Cup since the 2007 season, kept their quest for a return to the country’s top tier firmly on track with a 63-7 win over South Coast Pirates at the USIU grounds, a result that sees them set up a semifinal date against Resolution Kisii at the Gusii Stadium next weekend.
