As the Kenya Cup season reaches its midway point and heads into matchday six, the race for individual scoring honours is beginning to take shape, with familiar names stamping their authority. It is an all Kabras Sugar affair at the summit of the try scoring charts, where Jeanson Misoga and Patrick Lumumba have been clinical in equal measure, both crossing the whitewash eight times. Hot on their heels is a crowded chase pack, a six man tie on six tries featuring Branton Lusila of KCB, Daniel Kipchirchir of Menengai Oilers, Kabras Sugar duo Eric Cantona and Teddy Akala, Obat Kuke of KU Blak Blad, and Beldad Ogeta of Menengai Oilers, underlining the competitive edge across the league.

While tries ignite the stands, points off the boot have proven just as decisive, and Enock Oduor of KU Blak Blad has been the standout marksman so far. The dependable kicker leads the points tally with 61 to his name. He is closely followed by Eric Cantona of Kabras Sugar, whose all round influence has seen him accumulate 56 points. Timothy Omela of Menengai Oilers sits third on 52 points, before a noticeable gap opens up to fourth placed Faran Juma of Kenya Harlequins with 37 points. Rounding off the top five is Nakuru RFC’s Javan Otieno, who has quietly contributed 35 points through his boot.

Looking at the overall scoring picture, Eric Cantona has carved out an early advantage as the top points scorer in the league with an impressive total of 86 points, a clear reflection of his dual threat with ball in hand and from the tee. Omela remains firmly in the hunt with 72 points, while Oduor’s tally of 61 places him third. Fidens Onyango of Nondescripts occupies fourth spot with 51 points, and completing the top five is Brian Wahinya of KCB, who has posted 48 points. With the second half of the season beckoning, the battle for scoring honours promises even more twists as teams sharpen up for the crucial run in.
