As the 2025 2026 Kenya Cup season reaches the halfway mark, the league table is beginning to tell a compelling story of ambition, resilience and quiet desperation. Match Day Six has left little room for comfort at the summit, where Kabras Sugar continue to set the pace with 30 points. The Sugarmen have been relentless, but they are far from alone. Menengai Oilers sit level on points, separated only by point difference, making the title race feel delicately poised rather than settled. Not far behind, KCB remain firmly in the play off zone in third place with 29 points, refusing to be shaken off in what is shaping up to be a gripping chase at the top.
Below the leading trio, the table begins to stretch. A significant ten point gap separates KCB from fourth placed KU Blak Blad, underlining just how fierce the contest has been at the front. Strathmore Leos occupy fifth position, staying within touching distance, while Nondescripts sit sixth on 14 points with a game in hand that could yet tilt the balance in their favour. Away from the bright lights of the title and play off race, a fierce relegation battle is quietly taking shape at the foot of the table. Impala currently occupy eighth position with seven points, level with Daystar Falcons who sit just below them in ninth thanks to point difference. Nakuru RFC find themselves tenth on six points, followed closely by Kisumu RFC, also on six. At the bottom of the standings are MMUST with four points, but hope remains alive. With two games in hand, they still hold a lifeline that could yet rewrite their season if they seize the opportunity.
In the KRU Championship, the race for promotion is just as tense. Mwamba sit proudly at the top of the table with 26 points, showing consistency and intent. JKUAT Cougars are right behind them on 25 points after an impressive run that included a decisive win over Catholic Monks, a result that pushed the Monks down to third position. At the other end of the table, Mean Machine occupy ninth place with 10 points, tied with Zetech Oaks who also have 10. USIU Martials sit eleventh on nine points, while Western Bulls prop up the standings having managed just three points so far.
The Eric Shirley Shield has also begun to take clear shape, starting with the Eastern Conference where KCB lead the way on 30 points. Nondescripts have climbed back into second position following a vital win over KU Blak Blad, taking their tally to 17 points. In the Western Conference, Kabras Sugar continue their dominance with 25 points at the top, closely followed by Menengai Oilers on 20. For MMUST, the struggles have spilled over into the Shield as well, with the side rooted to the bottom of the log on just one point.
