Match day ten across the Kenya Cup and the KRU Championship did not reach full conclusion after three fixtures were abandoned, prompting the fixtures committee to review the circumstances surrounding the matches and determine the way forward.

In the KRU Championship fixture between Mean Machine and Mombasa RFC, the committee ruled in favour of the coastal side. Mombasa RFC has been awarded full points for the match while Mean Machine will be docked two points. The match will be recorded as a 28-0 result in favour of Mombasa RFC.

The decision was reached after the committee determined that relevant regulations had been contravened. The ruling was guided by regulation 13.6.4.6(b)(ii) on match abandonment together with clause 8 of the 2025 26 league manual which addresses match venues.

In the Kenya Cup, the fixture between KU Blak Blad and Impala RFC will now be played at a later date. The game has been rescheduled to a midweek slot before the final round of Kenya Cup fixtures with KU Blak Blad maintaining hosting rights as originally planned.

Both teams have been instructed to ensure the match is completed by Wednesday noon in order to allow sufficient player recovery time ahead of the Kenya Cup fixtures scheduled for 14 March 2026.

The other affected Kenya Cup match involved KCB Rugby and Kabras Sugar RFC which had been abandoned during play. In this case the committee ruled that the result at the time the match was halted will stand as the final outcome of the fixture.

The decisions bring clarity following the disruption that affected match day ten as both competitions approach the closing stages of the regular season.
