As the Kenya Cup enters the final homestretch with just three games left on the regular season chart, matchday nine promises a proper showdown across the country. The spotlight shifts to the ASK Showground Nakuru where second placed Menengai Oilers host third placed KCB Rugby in what shapes up as a crucial tie breaker. Oilers sit on forty points while KCB follow closely with thirty nine, making this fixture a key determinant in the race for a home semi final slot. Oilers head into the clash confident after winning the past two encounters against KCB last season, while KCB will be eager to underline their title credentials with a statement performance. In Kakamega, defending champions Kabras Sugar RFC welcome Nondescripts RFC at the ASK Showground as they continue their charge at the summit.

Elsewhere, a varsity derby awaits as KU Blak Blad travel to face Daystar Falcons, with Falcons riding on two straight wins and Blad keen to solidify their playoff ambitions. In Kakamega, MMUST Rugby host Strathmore Leos as the hosts continue to battle the relegation axe while Strathmore push to cement a top six finish. Back in the capital, the Ngong Road derby comes alive at the Impala Grounds where Impala RFC take on Kenya Harlequins in a fixture rich in rivalry. In Kisumu, bottom placed Kisumu RFC welcome Nakuru RFC at the ASK Showground Mamboleo as the battle to beat the drop gathers pace.

In the KRU Championship, a thrilling round of fixtures lines up across the country with a varsity derby headlining the action along Thika Road as USIU Martials host Mean Machine RFC at the USIU A Grounds. Still along the same stretch, Mwamba RFC take on Zetech Oaks at the Goan Institute in Pangani, while NYS Spades welcome coast side Mombasa RFC at the NYS headquarters in Ruaraka. In the western region, Kisii RFC face table toppers JKUAT Cougars at Kisii School in Nyanza as Western Bulls RFC host Homeboyz RFC at the Bullring in Kakamega. The final fixture takes the battle down south to Diani where South Coast Pirates welcome Catholic Monks RFC, wrapping up a matchday that could reshape the promotion race and the fight to beat the drop.

In the Eric Shirley Shield, two derbies are set for the eastern conference where Kenya Harlequin will face off against Nondescripts RFC in the Ngong road derby which is scheduled for 12:00 PM at Impala grounds.Another varsity derby will be going down in Athi River as Daystar Falcons welcome KU Blak Blad.In the western conference, Menengai Oilers will be playing Kabras Sugar at the ASK Showground in a match that has been rescheduled to played on Friday  27th February at 2:00 PM.Finally Kisumu RFC will also be travelling down to Nakuru where they will be facing off against Nakuru RFC at the Nakuru Athletics club.
