Strathmore Leos follow in fourth place while KU Blak Blad sit fifth, both on 10 points as they keep the pressure on the leading pack. Meanwhile, a tense relegation battle looms at the bottom end of the table, where MMUST, Daystar Falcons, Kisumu RFC, and Impala RFC occupy positions nine through twelve with no points so far. Impala, in particular, face early danger, weighed down by a staggering -296 point difference.
In the Championship, Catholic Monks have set the early pace with an impressive perfect record ,three wins from three, all with bonus points to sit comfortably at the top with 15 points. Recently relegated Mwamba RFC continue adjusting to life in the second tier and currently occupy second place on 11 points, narrowly edging JKUAT, who share the same tally but trail on point difference. South Coast Pirates follow in fourth on 10 points with a game in hand, while Zetech Oaks and Mean Machine complete the top six. The relegation zone begins at tenth place, where Mombasa RFC and USIU Martials both sit on two points, while Western Bulls anchor the table with -2 points.
In the Eric Shirley Shield, KCB lead the Eastern Conference standings, holding a four-point advantage over second-placed Nondescripts, who sit on 11 points. Impala RFC’s struggles mirror those in the Kenya Cup as their ESS side finds itself in sixth place on -2 points, with Daystar Falcons rooted at the bottom on -6. Over in the Western Conference, Menengai Oilers command the table with a flawless 15 points following a dominant weekend outing against Kisumu RFC. Kabras Sugar trail in second place with 10 points, while Kisumu RFC occupy fourth and MMUST sit fifth with -4 points as both sides seek improvement before the league resumes.
