KCB wrested the Eric Shirley Shield reserve league title from holders Resolution Impala Saracens with a 22-17 win at the USIU ground on Saturday 24 March 2018.
They took a 14-7 lead into the break after Joshua Mwangi converted tries from Clayne Okallo and George Maranga in between Antony Odhiambo’s converted try for Impala.
Elly Mukaizi put KCB 19-7 up in the second half after he picked up the ball off a cross kick by teammate Esau Otieno with the conversion sailing wide. Resolution Impala Saracens Boks came to within two points after a converted try from Nato Simiyu that was followed by a Mike Munyua penalty. Mwangi’s late penalty secured the 22-17 result for the KCB reserves snatching the ESS title from the Impala Boks.
