Mwamba and Nakuru played out a 10-10 draw on Saturday 10 December at the Impala Club.
After a tentative start by both sides, it was Nakuru who opened the scoring, Geoff Ominde drilling home a penalty for a 3-0 lead seven minutes to half time before George Adongo punished Mwamba indecision, pouncing on a loose ball and racing clear to score, Ominde with the extras for a 10-0 lead at the interval.
Nakuru maintained their intensity after the restart, drawing a penalty off Mwamba, Ominde’s goal attempt sailing wide.
Mwamba would slowly find their way back into this one, Lavin Asego converting Humphrey Kayange’s try to bring the score to 10-7 with twenty three minutes left on the ticker.
Asego’s drop goal three minutes later tied the scores at 10-10, setting the stage for an exciting final twenty minutes where both sides spurned point scoring opportunities, Asego missing a kick in front of the sticks as the match ended in a stalemate.
