Defending champions Kabras Sugar RFC will host KU Blak Blad in a high-stakes Kenya Cup semi-final at the ASK Showground, Kakamega on Saturday, 25th April at 3:00 PM.Kabras come into the clash as the team to beat, having topped the regular season standings with an impressive 52 points. Their dominance earned them a direct home semi-final slot, reinforcing their status as title favourites. The sugarmen are now chasing history, aiming to secure a fifth consecutive Kenya Cup title,a feat that would further cement their legacy.
However, standing in their way is a determined Blak Blad side eager to script their own fairytale.KU Blak Blad have emerged as one of the most exciting sides this season, winning over fans with their fearless style of play and resilience. As the only university team in the semis, their journey has been nothing short of remarkable. After finishing fifth in the regular season, they faced fellow varsity rivals Strathmore Leos in a tightly contested playoff match, narrowly edging them out 27-25 to book their semi-final ticket.
Heading into the encounter, Kabras have named a formidable squad, with head coach Carlos fielding a lineup packed with experience. The front row features an all-Kenya Simbas combination of Edward Mwaura, Eugene Sifuna, and Ephraim Oduor. Captain George Nyambua leads the side, alongside key players Jone Kubu, Walter Okoth, and Eric Cantona.KU Blak Blad, however, arrive in Kakamega with belief and a squad ready to rise to the occasion.
