The stage is set for a thrilling semi-final clash in the 2026 Kenya Cup as KCB Rugby host Nondescripts RFC at the Lions Den, Ruaraka on Saturday, 25th April 2026.

KCB head into the fixture with the advantage of a direct semi-final qualification, having finished second in the regular season. Their consistent run throughout the campaign underlined their credentials as title contenders, and they will be eager to make amends after narrowly missing out on the finals last year. With the home crowd behind them, the bankers will be keen to stamp their authority early and push for another Kenya Cup crown.

On the other hand, Nondescripts RFC ,popularly known as the Rangers  have taken the longer route to the semis but arrive with momentum firmly on their side. Defying expectations, they pulled off a crucial playoff victory over Menengai Oilers to secure their place in the last four. Having finished sixth in the regular season and only just clinched a playoff spot, their resurgence could not have come at a better time.

Despite being the most successful club in Kenya Cup history with 24 titles, Nondies have endured a prolonged drought in the 15s format. Saturday’s encounter presents a golden opportunity to reignite their legacy, and they will be banking on confidence, experience, and resilience to upset the hosts.

KCB have named a formidable squad for the tie, signaling their intent from the onset. The front row features Wilhite Mususi, Fidel Maina, and Nick Okullo, providing a solid foundation upfront. The squad is further bolstered by Emmanuel Silungi and Kenyan internationals George Ooro, Samuel Asati, and Festus Shiasi. Leading from the front is captain Bob Muhati.

Nondescripts, however, are equally well-equipped for the challenge. Their lineup boasts a blend of seasoned campaigners and international experience, including Elisha Koronya, Hillary Baraza, skipper Steve Odhiambo, and Charles Omondi. Additional firepower comes from Alexander Deveraux, Charles Odhiambo, and Ronnie Omondi.

Match officiating duties will be handled by centre referee Kevin Wambugu, assisted by  Brian Nyakundi and  veteran Constant Cap  on the sidelines. With a place in the final at stake, both sides have everything to play for. KCB will look to capitalize on home advantage and consistency, while Nondescripts will aim to ride their underdog wave and script yet another upset.
