In the Eric Shirley Shield, Kabras and Resolution Impala Saracens were the biggest winners of week five as the beat Kenyatta University’s Blakblad and Kisumu RFC 66-0 and 34-0 respectively. Both sides picking up the maximum points today.

KCB Cubs maintained their lead on the log gathering their five points as they shut Homeboyz RFC out of the top five  beating them 43-11 at the Lion’s Den in Ruaraka.

Menengai Oilers bounced back to their winning ways after they held on to their 12-3 half time lead over the Kenya Harlequins and stretched it to 27-19 at full time. Oilers were first on the scoreboard as Ibrahim Ayoo went over the whitewash, the conversion drifting wide for an early 5-0 lead. The gap was reduced moments later Ambroce Curtis of Kenya Harlequins split the posts with a penalty for 3-5 score. Oilers then closed their first half with an extra seven points off Edwin Abung’ana’s try and Mike Ochieng’s conversion. In the second half, Quins registered 16 points off two unconverted tries and two penalties while Oilers landed two tries, one penalty and one conversion.

Stanbic Mwamba edged Nondies 13-10 at the Railway Club while at the BullRing in Kakamega, the hosts suffered a painful 20-22 loss to Top Fry Nakuru.
