Menengai Cream Homeboyz and KCB secured home semifinal qualification at the close of the Kenya Cup’s league phase on Saturday 25 March 2017.

Menengai Cream Homeboys rallied from a 14-25 deficit to tie 28-28 with Jamhuri Park co-tenants Nondescripts, a result that saw them top the Kenya Cup log with 67 points by virtue of landing four tires for a bonus point, one more than KCB who posted a bonus point 25-18 win over Mwamba at the KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka. Mwamba, lying sixth heading into this fixture, posted a  bonus point that saw them stay sixth and with that, earning a place in the playoffs after seventh ranked Top Fry Nakuru failed to garner the all-important bonus point in the 21-12 win over relegated Mean Machine.

SportPesa Quins 72-5 blitz of Strathmore Leos was not enough to see them breach the top two while Resolution Impala Saracens confirmed fourth slot with a 57-18 over Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad.

Kabras Sugar won the Ingo Derby with a 30-14 win over cross-town rivals Western Bulls, a result that condemned the Bulls to next season’s second tier KRU Championship.
