A changed Mwamba RFC team is set to take on Catholic Monks in a Kenya Cup clash to be played at Kenyatta University grounds on Saturday afternoon.

Marlon Ondiege makes his return to Kenya Cup action after more than a year out. He will start at wing in one of several changes head coach John Mbai has made to the team that beat Total Nondies  43-13 a fortnight ago.

In another change, Francis Akatu starts at loosehead prop as Brian Otieno goes to the bench. Kevin Moriasi comes in at lock in place of Dan Sikuta who is in Dubai with the Kenya Sevens team. Nick Ongeri partners Moriasi.

Peter Chege comes in for  Edwin Machanje at number 8 while youngster Charles Kuka makes his first senior start at scrum half. Shaban Ahmed, fresh from helping Shujaa clinch silver at last weekend’s CAR Sevens in Harare, slots in at flyhalf.

Brad Owako and Greg Odhiambo partner  in the midfield as the post Horace Otieno era begins. Otieno recently secured a one year deal with Sri Lankan outfit Police Sports Club.

Veterans Louis Kisia, Lavin Asego and Joseph Oriwo are named on the bench along side Mandela Onyinka, Churchill Kanakana, Januaris Muli and Philip Ikambili.

Meanwhile, Catholic Monks have also announced their line up for Saturday’s match. Head Coach Simon Jawichre has once again handed a start to Caleb Kiprotich at scrum half with his star players Harrison Asena and Foster Isiche also featuring for the Monks who are yet to register a win.

This match kicks off at 2.00pm.
