KCB have the chance to extend their lead atop the standings when they play Mean Machine in the day’s early kick off at the Kenyatta University on Kenya Cup match day nine.

Curtis Olago’s charges were ruthlessly efficient in last weekend’s 28-10 win away to Top Fry Nakuru and will be out to maintain that consistency against a Machine side that props the league table, winless after seven outings. He will certainly be out to see his team build on the 49-8 result from the first leg as they continue with their push for a top two finish at the close of the league phase.

Olago may be tempted to tinker with his squad, probably handing starts to Peter Karia, Martin Owila and Frankie Mwita who all started the bankers’ last out from the bench but will probably start with Darwin Mukidza who was clinical against Nakuru.

Machine side that let slip a 14-0 lead against Western Bulls, eventually losing that fixture 19-29 at the UoN Grounds last weekend. The varsity lads will look to that triumvirate of Valentine Odoyo, Kevin Otieno and Rene Inyanga who have carried the team on their backs. They have the capability to stir Machine into life and are tasked with that duty ahead on Saturday.
