There is plenty more at stake than just league points when hosts Kabras Sugar welcome leaders and defending champions KCB to the Nandi Bears Club for Saturday’s top of the table clash.

Both sides have been a cut above the rest this season, it is unsurprising that they both remain unbeaten as the Kenya Cup league heads into its business end.

Away from the rather mundane detail of unbeaten records inevitably coming to a halt on Saturday ( barring a draw), there is the issue of the Kenya Cup final venue, which since 2016 has been hosted by the highest ranked team in the championship match.

A win for Kabras on Saturday, backed up by wins in their remaining pool and playoff fixtures will assure them of hosting the final. The same applies for KCB.

With that in mind, both teams will certainly step out on to the turf at Nandi Bears, keen to prove who has the upper hand in terms of dominance, possession, territory and inevitably the full time result.

Both sides are expected to name their match day squads for this duel on Thursday evening.
