Mombasa have returned to the second tier KRU Championship after winning their KRU Nationwide semifinal at home to another former Championship side, Kitale.
The 8-0 result was good enough to take the 1997 Enterprise Cup winners to next weekend ‘s Nationwide final, but more importantly, hand them a berth to compete for promotion to the top tier Kenya Cup league where they were relegated from in 2019.
Emmanuel Okeya landed an unconverted try with Elvis Namusasi drilling home a penalty to secure the result.
JKUAT Cougars also returned to the Championship with a hard fought 15-11 victory at home to visiting Moi University Arsonists in Juja.
