Quins, Impala face off in match day 6 marquee fixture

It’s that time of the season when Ngong road comes alight with its derby pitting two sides long separated by a kei-apple bush that has since been reinforced over the years with chicken wire mesh fencing. Eternal rivals SportsPesa Quins and Resolution Impala Saracens meet up for arguably the biggest fixture in Kenyan club rugby, the Ngong Road Derby happening on Kenya Cup match day 6 which falls on Saturday 20 January 2018.

Hosts Quins come into this fixture sitting fifth on the log with 17 points from three wins and two losses in their five outings to date while visiting Impala are third on 20 points, this coming off four wins and a solitary defeat.

The two sides had different results last weekend, Quins going down 13-22 away to Kabras Sugar in Kakamega while the Sarries ran riot in a 77-0 demolition of visiting Resolution Kisii at the Impala Club.

Form notwithstanding, expect a full on battle, something that only derbies can deliver as the quest for Kenya Cup points, social media and neighborhood bragging rights goes a notch higher.
