The KRU Championship week nine overall performance from the eight teams in action has seen Catholic Monks remain top while Western Bulls move to the second position after their 39-6 win over the South Coast Pirates at the Bull Ring in Kakamega. Monks lost 8-15 to Masinde Muliro University but picked up a losing bonus point bringing their total tally to 33 points.

Monks and Bulls are tied with 33 points each but the point difference is what sees Monks ranked first and Bulls second. USIU who lost 15-21 to Kitale at the Equip College over the weekend are now third on the log with 32 points

At the University of Eldoret, the hosts beat the Regional Logistics Mombasa RFC 17-3.

Kisumu RFC remain fourth on the log after they were awarded a walkover since Ngong Warriors were unable to honour the fixture due to some unavoidable circumstances. MMUST’s win over USIU sees them move up to fifth position while in spite of their win over Monks, Kitale remain eleventh on the table. Egerton Wasps were awarded a 24-0 win over hosts Kisii due to the poor condition of the pitch offered by the hosts.
