Defending champions Kabras Sugar host KCB in the 2022/23 Kenya Cup final at 3.00pm at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday 11 March 2023.

Why is it being played in Kakamega?

The Kakamega Showground is Kabras Sugar’s home, and since they were the highest ranked team at the close of the league phase, they were guaranteed a home semifinal and final in the event that they emerged victorious.

That is exactly what happened

Paths to the final

After topping the league phase of the competition unbeaten, Kabras Sugar defeated Kenya Harlequin 22-8 in their semifinal at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday 4 March 2023.

KCB finished second, suffering only one defeat along the way, and that was against Kabras. They also earned a home semifinal by virtue of a top two finish and defeated Menengai Oilers 38-20 at the KCB Sports Club.

Kabras though, have won the most recent fixture against the bankers – 29-23 in match day 10 action on 18 February 2023 at the KCB Sports Club.
