Kabras Sugar RFC remains the only unbeaten side in the Kenya Cup after week five. They registered their fifth bonus point win in Kakamega as they beat Resolution Impala Saracens 42-10. Kabras are top of the table with a total of 25 points and are followed by the defending champions KCB RC with 20 points. The Bankers secured their fourth win at the KCB Sports Club Ruaraka as they saw off the Menengai Cream Homeboyz RFC 34-15. Prior to this fixture, Kenya Harlequins bounced back to their winning ways as they handed Nondies RC their second consecutive loss at the Den beating them 32-13.

At the Kenyatta University, Blakblad edged out a spirited Strathmore Leos beating them 24-22 while Stanbic Mwamba RFC beat the Menengai Oilers 27-15 securing their second win of the season. At the Nakuru Athletics Club, hosts Nakuru beat Mean Machine 29-19.

In the Championship League, Regional Logistics Mombasa RFC handed the South Coast Pirates their fifth loss beating them 21-20. USIU remain top of the table as they beat the Ngong Warriors 20-15 while Catholic Monks and Western Bulls beat their rivals Egerton Wasps and University of Eldoret 24-5 and 15-8 respectively. Other Championship winners were Resolution Kisii RFC and Silverstone Kisumu RFC beating their rivals MMUST and Kitale 23-6 and 14-10 respectively.

The Nationwide League was played in the Central Region only this weekend where only three matches were played. Chuka RFC beat Meru RFC 13-12 while Zetech University edged out MKU Thika 14-12. The third fixture saw Dedan Kimathi beat Thika RFC 27-14. The Kimabu vs Murang’a match has been postponed to 2nd February while Embu RFC were awarded a walk over after Nanyuki failed to honour the fixture.
