KCB reclaimed the Impala Floodlit title with an 18-17 win over defending champions Resolution Impala Saracens.
They raced into an early 13-0 lead through Essau Otieno’s seventh minute penalty. Nick Ongeri went over the chalk three minutes later, Otieno sure with the conversion before adding a penalty six minutes later.
The Sarries kept their heads, Quinto Ongo landing a twenty fifth minute penalty before converting Xavier Kipng’etich’s try on the stroke of half time, KCB holding the slender 13-10 lead at the interval.
They would then go ahead after the restart, Ongo converting Timothy Makiya’s try, the Sarries with the 17-13 advantage in early second half action.
Ongo and KCB’s Shaban Ahmed would see red on fifty seven minutes, both sides seeing out the remainder of the tie with fourteen men, Otieno’s try with ten minutes to play seeing KCB claim a fourth title in five years.
Menengai Cream Homeboyz claimed third place at this tournament with a 34-22 win over Mean Machine. The Deejayz lost to KCB in Cup semis last weekend to drop to the playoffs while Machine had lost to Impala Saracens.
Homeboyz ran in six tries and two conversions against Mean Machine’s three tries, two conversions and one penalty.Leonard Mugaisi, Thomas Okidia, Nelson Sangurah, Israel Soi, Collins Shikoli and Stanley Isogol touched down for Homeboyz as Grevis Onyino, Isaac Waweru and Ian Wando with Eugene Musungu adding the conversions and penalty for Machine.
QuinsPozzaXV won the plate title with a 33-29 win over the Strathmore Leos while Menengai Oilers defended the Varsity title with a 25-20 win over the Catholic Monks.
