Leos take on Pirates as Championship enters match day five

Strathmore Leos have a chance to extend their KRU Championship lead when they play host to the South Coast Pirates at their home venue in Madaraka on Saturday 23 November 2019. The Leos come into this tie with a 100% record boasting of four wins from four matches to date.  They have 14 points, five clear of the fifth placed Pirates who are not the best of travelers.

Second placed Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) is the other unbeaten team in the Championship. They are on 13 points, trailing the Leos by a solitary point and play at home to UoE Trojans at their home venue in Kakamega in a battle that pits second against third.

Mean Machine, Kenya Cup champions in 1977, 1989 and 1990 have recovered from their opening two losses of the season, registering two wins on the bounce to climb to fifth on the log after four matches. They take on 1997 Enterprise Cup winners Mombasa at their University of Nairobi home ground.

Sixth placed United States International University (USIU) host eighth placed Egerton Wasps at their Roysambu ground with Eldoret RFC playing host to Kisii. Northern Suburbs and the Catholic Monks will meet at the Catholic University in Lang’ata.
